Investment criteria

Darwin invests in the following types of transaction:

• Management buy-outs
• Management buy-ins
• Growth capital
• Minority investments
• Turnarounds

We target investments in UK companies worth between £10 million and £100 million.

Our primary focus is to build businesses of scale through organic growth or by acquisition. We also seek opportunities to implement step changes in operational performance. Furthermore, our experience in turnaround situations also means we will consider financing distressed businesses where appropriate.

A core part of Darwin’s strategy is to ensure that management teams have appropriate equity ownership and therefore a powerful incentive to succeed.
